The star of the show: Stewed Pork Rib (红烧长骨). RM20. A little too much MSG in it but absolutely yummy.
So yummy I have to post two images of the same dish :D
Stir fried vege, RM6
Kong Po Squid, RM12
Total: RM 43.30 including tea, hot water and extra rice.
Love the pork rib and I will definitely come back for this again!

We wanted to dine at Semenyih 52 but decided to try out a new place that a friend recommended -好朋友海鲜餐厅 (Ho Pang Yao seafood restaurant) - which was just about 50 meters away from Semenyin 52.
Bruce Lee Steamed Tilapia. RM43. A little too spicy for my liking but my friends loved it.
Stir Fried Sotong with Pineapple. RM25
Yummy!

What we ordered:
Claypot tilapia. Nice and fresh (of course!). No muddy smell either. However, the fish was quite fat!

Claypot pork with potatoes in it. Lovely but I wished the pork were slightly leaner!

This one is in Jinjang Utara. I went to the post office there because I had to mail a parcel overseas.
As usual, overly tasty because the food was loaded with MSG. You could tell it tasted unnaturally flavorful as soon as you took a bite. The irritating thirst that lingered on hours after the meal further reinforced my belief that heavy dosage of MSG was Kurt (OrionMystery)http://www.blogger.com/profile/00919450325284468227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9179000441682987044.post-1212090369359000362013-09-10T21:56:00.000+08:002013-09-10T21:56:35.101+08:00Chen Chen Roast Duck & Goose - PuduChen Chen Hong Kong Goose Duck Chicken in Pudu. There are two others nearby, on the same street. I think I have tried them all and frankly, none impressed me. This one even advertises Hong Kong "Sham Tseng" on the signboard! Sham Tseng is famous for its roast goose!
But since it's been a long time since I last dined there, I went ahead to try this one, again.
Quarter of a goose.

We wanted to try the siew yuk (roast pork) but it was all sold out. So was the wonton noodle :(
We ended up with just char siew (BBQ Pork) and sausage.
The char siew was really nice. I think I like the char siew here more than the one in Famous Seremban Favorite
Taugeh...nice and crunchy. Better than most other places I've been to.
The bill came to RM33.00 for what you see above, two Kurt (OrionMystery)http://www.blogger.com/profile/00919450325284468227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9179000441682987044.post-38534634166504040842013-08-29T11:12:00.000+08:002013-08-29T11:12:48.778+08:00Ming Kee Claypot Chicken Rice - Kepong BaruAgain, another stall that caught my attention because of there were always many patrons there. This one was selling claypot chicken rice. I just had a good one in Brickfields and thought it'd be interesting to make a comparison so I checked this one out.
Claypot chicken rice. The chicken was quite dry. There was salted fish too but it's all pre-mixed in the rice.

Char Siew (BBQ Pork). This was nice but perhaps we set our expectation too high. It just wasn't as tender I'd liked them to be.
Siew Yuk (Roasted Pork). The skin was quite hard and not very crispy. Totally subpar compared to places like Kuala Lipis Noodle but too bad it closed down Kurt (OrionMystery)http://www.blogger.com/profile/00919450325284468227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9179000441682987044.post-40848809197999679462013-08-22T21:54:00.000+08:002013-08-22T21:54:38.575+08:00Wong Kee wonton noodle - Kepong BaruEvery time I passed by this stall, I saw many patrons there so one day I decided to try it myself.
Big mistake!
Wonton noodle with mushroom and chicken feet. You can tell how soggy the noodles were from here, can't you? The chicken feet weren't very tender either.

I must say the fact that they made their own noodle was also part of the reasons I stepped into this stall. Not many varieties there, probably because it's Ramadhan?
RM8.00 for these.
The squid was quite good. Certain parts were quite chewy but the gravy was nice.

Pad Thai. I am sure it's very authentic as this stall was operated by Thai guys, and this plate was cooked by a Thai lady. It tasted sweet, and no wok hei at all. My friend and I had lunch at Kokoro Bento in Kota Kemuning.
After browsing the menu for a while, we decided to go for the RM24.90 Norweigian fish promotion set meal which includes starter (chawanmushi, or mini udon, or salad), miso soup, rice, cold dishes, dessert (matcha ice cream or red bean soup or cheese cake) and free flow of green tea.

Since I hadn't had claypot chicken rice for ages, I decided to have it for dinner.
It's across the road from 7-11, near YMCA,
A pot for one. With tender chicken, lap cheong and ham yue (salted fish - in the little saucer). Very natural taste and no evidence of excessive MSG. I like it.

Chicken wings marinated with soy sauce, 5 spice powder and some white pepper for at least 4 hours.
I set my Turbo Oven to 250 deg C. After about 15 minutes, I brushed some undiluted honey on the wings. Top side first, then turned the wings over and brushed the other side as well. That was when I saw this little nyonya express cafe. The price seemed reasonable so I gave it a try.
Nyonya curry mee. The kitchen didn't even heat up the broth enough. Just luke warm when served. Not good.
Inside Kepong Village Mall. RM7.50 including one soft drink.

And this one.....the English/Malay name - LP Noodle Station - is okay. It's the Chinese name that bothers me - 至尊麵! 至尊 means supreme, ace or something like that.
The name piqued my curiosity so I decided to check out the restaurant.
