Edit: Kuala Lipis Noodle Restaurant is longer in business effective July 1, 2013.
Wonderful siew yuk. The skin is crunchy, the fat part melts in your mouth and the lean part is flavorful.
I am sure you can tell a lot from all the pictures I have posted here.
Thick, crispy, crunchy skin. It's just like eating crackers!
Say "Aah"!
Fantastic noodle. Lightly firm, springy and not soggy at all - the way I like it.
-->
Char siew was very good too. Caramelized and crispy on the outside but tender inside! No tenderizer used!
Menu: Larger image here.
Latest addtion: Porchetta. Succulent and tender Porchetta, flavoured with wonderful herb and spice!
Tender and succulent, with wonderful herbal flavor.
Porchetta is available on weekends only!!! RM16.50 (July 28, 2012)

Hokkien Noodle / Tai Luk Meen Kg Cempaka
Yummy Fuk Keen Meen / Tai Luk Meen / Hokkien Noodle in Kg. Cempaka.
The signboard says "charcoal fire" but I didn't confirm that.
It was really quite good. I could taste the "wok hei".

Prawn Mee - Yong Len TTDI
Prawn mee at Yong Len cafe in TTDI. Everyone says it's among the best in KL so I figured i should give it a try.
It was just okay for me. More or less the same as the one i had at Kam Heong PJ State. . I prefer my fried shallot slices to be in whole and not broken up. The fried shallot didn't taste very fresh either.
However, it did have all the right ingredient for a good prawn mee, and most importantly, it tasted very good too. The chili paste was a big let-down though. Too little, and too bland. I put the content of the whole saucer in but it still didn't do much to kick the soup up a notch!
I wish they have their own home made chili paste like this one.
Edit:
From a different visit.
I had Penang Otak Otak too.
RM3.50. Served hot from the steamer. Quite nice but I prefer more daun kadok and more kaffir leaves in it as well
One reasonably sized chunk of fish meat in it, not sure what fish though.

Prawn Mee - PJ State
Prawn mee (hokkien mee) brunch at PJ State. This is the same coffee shop that sells great Teochew braised duck / Lo Ack / Lou Ngap in the evening/night.
RM5 per bowl. Not as good as those you get in Penang but not too bad for KL/PJ I guess.
Edit: photos from a different visit:
Address:
8 Jalan Tengah
Off Jalan Yong Shook Lin

Soul Kitchen Trattoria @ Muntri Street Penang
This lovely, homey little cafe is situated at the intersection of Muntri Street and Leith Street in Penang. Muntri Street in the street right opposite Cititel Hotel on Penang Road. Soul Kitchen is only 100 meters away from Cititel/Penang Road.
Salami pizza RM17
Baguette? Didn't see this on the menu
Tiramisu, RM10. Very different from the tiramisu I have tried before but still very nice and unique. Soft and kind of melt in your mouth.
The three items above with two glasses of water: RM44.
Soul Kitchen Trattoria. That's the owner on the trishaw. Lovely pre-war, heritage building!

Curry Noodle - Pulau Tikus Penang
I quite like the kari mee from this stall in Sin Hup Aun cafe in Pulau Tikus. Different from the one you get at Lorong Seratus Tahun, but still nice.
Coagulated blood, cuttle fish, shrimps, tau pok (deep fried tofu), siham (cockles). All the standard goodies!
Location:
Somewhere opposite Pulau Tikus police station, close to the wet market.

Lor Mee Fettes Park Penang
One of my most favorite places for Lor Mee in Penang. It is not the same type of Lor Mee as the Ulu Yam type which has vinegar in it.
I always order mine with extra egg or chicken feet :P
This stall has been there for more than ten years i think.
Love the minced garlic sauce and chili sauce.
Location:
Tanjung Plaza, Fettes Park, Tanjung Tokong. opposite Island Plaza, behind Watson store.
