Ipoh Hor Fun - TTDI

I have tried the real Ipoh Hor Fun in Ipoh itself and loved it. However, I only know of two Ipoh Hor Fun places in KL. Chong Thoong Kee in TTDI is one of them. The other one is TK Chong in Damansara Perdana.

The hor fun was quite smooth with lovely prawn oil flavour which I have gotten used to and like. I actually found it a bit weird at first:D.


The chicken was just okay for me. Not exactly tender and smooth.


Prawn wonton. Tasted quite good, nice and crunchy with hint of sesame oil aroma.




Bean sprout. Not as good as Ipoh's but still nice and crunchy.


Only 12.05 pm but the place was already quite packed.


Menu with prices (Oct 10, 2012)


The bill came to RM9.50. But if I were to follow the prices on the menu, it should have been 7.80 (hor fun with wonton) + 1.00 (bean sprout) + 0.50 (hot tea) = RM9.30. Hmmmm....

Prawn Mee - Yong Len TTDI

Prawn mee at Yong Len cafe in TTDI. Everyone says it's among the best in KL so I figured i should give it a try.

It was just okay for me. More or less the same as the one i had at Kam Heong PJ State. . I prefer my fried shallot slices to be in whole  and not broken up. The fried shallot didn't taste very fresh either.



However, it did have all the right ingredient for a good prawn mee, and most importantly, it tasted very good too. The chili paste was a big let-down though. Too little, and too bland. I put the content of the whole saucer in but it still didn't do much to kick the soup up a notch!


I wish they have their own home made chili paste like this one.

I had Penang Otak Otak too.

RM3.50. Served hot from the steamer. Quite nice but I prefer more daun kadok and more kaffir leaves in it as well








One reasonably sized chunk of fish meat in it, not sure what fish though.
