Meng Kee Char Siew - Glenmarie

We wanted to try the siew yuk (roast pork) but it was all sold out. So was the wonton noodle :(

We ended up with just char siew (BBQ Pork) and sausage.

The char siew was really nice. I think I like the char siew here more than the one in Famous Seremban Favorite


Taugeh...nice and crunchy. Better than most other places I've been to.


The bill came to RM33.00 for what you see above, two plates of rice and two glasses of warm Chinese tea.

Restoran Sri TTDI, Shah Alam

My friend kept telling me that this was the best Malay food restaurant in Klang Valley. I heard him once, twice, and thrice and finally I knew I had to go check it out, because in my mind, the best is Anis Putri in Pantai Dalam.

I got there at slightly after 11am. Bad timing. All the breakfast dishes were almost sold out, and lunch dishes weren't ready yet. I only found out about this when I had a short chat with one of the friendly lady. Apparently, there will be even more dishes for lunch!

Nasi dagang. RM10.40 including teh o ais limau (iced lemon tea). Beef curry, ikan tenggiri (mackerel), solok lada (stuffed chilli), and salad.

The food was really quite nice. Much better than this Tuu Dok Ko in Batu Caves. I really won't mind coming back here again. Now if only this place is not so far away from my area :D

But was it better than Anis Putri? Hard to say. Can't really compare breakfast dishes to lunch dishes. I will have to make another trip here, at least.

Restaurant D&R, Shah Alam

Restaurant D&R is inside Kompleks PNKS, Shah Alam, which is just opposite the SACC (Shah Alam Convention Center). I was there to cover an event for the evening and decided to have my late lunch there.

Quite pricey. RM9.10 for this including one limau ais (iced lemonade). The ikan keli (cat fish) with chili looked quite pathetic but luckily, it tasted quite okay. However, that could be because of the late hour - 4pm - of my visit there. Not many dishes left too at that hour.






Quite many dishes to choose from, but it's nowhere as many and as good as my favorite here.


Various kuih muih and cucur udang too.
