Restoran Equine Park
Dinner with a couple of friends in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan.
The star of the show: Stewed Pork Rib (红烧长骨). RM20. A little too much MSG in it but absolutely yummy.
So yummy I have to post two images of the same dish :D
Stir fried vege, RM6
Kong Po Squid, RM12
Total: RM 43.30 including tea, hot water and extra rice.
Love the pork rib and I will definitely come back for this again!

Restoran Ho Pang Yao - Semenyih
We were in Semenyih one evening around dinner time. We wanted to dine at Semenyih 52 but decided to try out a new place that a friend recommended -好朋友海鲜餐厅 (Ho Pang Yao seafood restaurant) - which was just about 50 meters away from Semenyin 52.
Bruce Lee Steamed Tilapia. RM43. A little too spicy for my liking but my friends loved it.
Stir Fried Sotong with Pineapple. RM25
Yummy!
Sambal Belacan Paku. RM10
I didn't like this.
Tofu, RM10
This one was just okay. Nice but nothing special.
Gao Zai Kuat (狗仔骨). RM20. Don't worry, it was pork, not dog meat LOL.
Nice, with mild flavor, nothing too strong except the star anise.
The bill came to RM120, which included hot water, tea and steamed rice. That's for 5 pax.

I didn't see any signboard by the roadside except this. Just turn left when you see this sign.
The restaurant is just right next to this Chinese temple
The menu are all in Chinese.

Langat Seafood & Beer Garden
I have heard about Langat Seafood and Beer Garden a few times and finally have a chance to dine there a few days ago.
What we ordered:
Claypot tilapia. Nice and fresh (of course!). No muddy smell either. However, the fish was quite fat!
RM61.50!!!
Claypot pork with potatoes in it. Lovely but I wished the pork were slightly leaner!
RM25
Sambal pucuk paku. Okay but the shoots were a little tough.
RM8
Fu Yong Egg / Omelet. Totally unimpressive. Very dry too.
RM12
Nice view of the fish ponds. There were a few more to the right.
Total damage: RM119.20, inclusive of a pot of hot Chinese Tea (RM5.50) , ice cubes, and 5 plates of rice (RM6.00), serviette (RM1.20) . That came to about RM30 per pax for four adults. Pricey IMO.

Kwai Lim Dim Sum - Jinjang
Another run-of-the-mill dim sum place. This one is in Jinjang Utara. I went to the post office there because I had to mail a parcel overseas.
As usual, overly tasty because the food was loaded with MSG. You could tell it tasted unnaturally flavorful as soon as you took a bite. The irritating thirst that lingered on hours after the meal further reinforced my belief that heavy dosage of MSG was used.
Woo Kok
Har Gau and Chicken feet (as usual :D)
Prawns Chee Cheong Fun
Siu Mai
5 items and a glass of hot Chinese Tea cost me RM20. That's for breakfast. I skipped lunch.

Chen Chen Roast Duck & Goose - Pudu
Chen Chen Hong Kong Goose Duck Chicken in Pudu. There are two others nearby, on the same street. I think I have tried them all and frankly, none impressed me. This one even advertises Hong Kong "Sham Tseng" on the signboard! Sham Tseng is famous for its roast goose!
But since it's been a long time since I last dined there, I went ahead to try this one, again.
Quarter of a goose.
Rather chewy, salty and not very flavorful. Nothing like the ones I have tried in Sham Tseng.
I think I will just go for roast duck and not goose anymore. I'll also stick to safe places like Loong Foong and De Champion.
Turmeric rice.
RM44.00 for quarter of a goose, soup and two plates of rice.

Meng Kee Char Siew - Glenmarie
We wanted to try the siew yuk (roast pork) but it was all sold out. So was the wonton noodle :(
We ended up with just char siew (BBQ Pork) and sausage.
The char siew was really nice. I think I like the char siew here more than the one in Famous Seremban Favorite
Taugeh...nice and crunchy. Better than most other places I've been to.
The bill came to RM33.00 for what you see above, two plates of rice and two glasses of warm Chinese tea.

Ming Kee Claypot Chicken Rice - Kepong Baru
Again, another stall that caught my attention because of there were always many patrons there. This one was selling claypot chicken rice. I just had a good one in Brickfields and thought it'd be interesting to make a comparison so I checked this one out.
Claypot chicken rice. The chicken was quite dry. There was salted fish too but it's all pre-mixed in the rice.
Lotus root soup with chicken feet.
Total cost: RM11.50 including soup and a glass of cold kumquat. I think it's quite pricey. The chicken rice wasn't very good at all, and far behind this one in Brickfield, which cost me only RM8 (no soup). Working it backward, that was like I paid RM4.50 for the soup?
Anyway, I doubt I will visit this stall again.
Address:
Jalan Bangau 1 (facing the car park) just outside Regal House Restaurant.

Restoran Famous Seremban Favourites
I have been told that the char siew in this place is really great so I decided to give it a try one day.
Char Siew (BBQ Pork). This was nice but perhaps we set our expectation too high. It just wasn't as tender I'd liked them to be.
Siew Yuk (Roasted Pork). The skin was quite hard and not very crispy. Totally subpar compared to places like Kuala Lipis Noodle but too bad it closed down already.
Sui Gao. There were 5 in this bowl. Totally unimpressive. Just like any other sui gao you could get anywhere.
Hakka Mee. Better than the average types I have tried elsewhere but yuck, too much MSG in it. Or maybe the MSG was from some other dishes. The point was, I was thirsty from as soon as we finished eating (12:30pm) till late in the afternoon!
Hakka Lo Shu Fun. I thought this is a Teochiew noodle, no?
Price: RM57.30 for the four of us including four glasses of Chinese tea.
Address:
No. 80-1 (Ground Floor),
Jalan PJU 1/3B
Sunway Mas Commercial Centre,
47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Wong Kee wonton noodle - Kepong Baru
Every time I passed by this stall, I saw many patrons there so one day I decided to try it myself.
Big mistake!
Wonton noodle with mushroom and chicken feet. You can tell how soggy the noodles were from here, can't you? The chicken feet weren't very tender either.
Fu Zhuk Yee Mai
I must say the fact that they made their own noodle was also part of the reasons I stepped into this stall. Big disppointment.
It's really really bad. Easily one of the worst I have ever tasted. The noodles were really soggy and quite tasteless.
Not cheap either. RM7.50 for the plate of noodle and fu zhuk yee mai.
I strong advise you to avoid this at all cost. If you happen to be there but really need to eat something, I suggest you try this porridge stall just across from this noodle stall. You'll be happy you make the 5 steps across the lane.
