Again, another stall that caught my attention because of there were always many patrons there. This one was selling claypot chicken rice. I just had a good one in Brickfields and thought it'd be interesting to make a comparison so I checked this one out.
Claypot chicken rice. The chicken was quite dry. There was salted fish too but it's all pre-mixed in the rice.
Lotus root soup with chicken feet.
Total cost: RM11.50 including soup and a glass of cold kumquat. I think it's quite pricey. The chicken rice wasn't very good at all, and far behind this one in Brickfield, which cost me only RM8 (no soup). Working it backward, that was like I paid RM4.50 for the soup?
Anyway, I doubt I will visit this stall again.

Restoran Famous Seremban Favourites
I have been told that the char siew in this place is really great so I decided to give it a try one day.
Char Siew (BBQ Pork). This was nice but perhaps we set our expectation too high. It just wasn't as tender I'd liked them to be.
Siew Yuk (Roasted Pork). The skin was quite hard and not very crispy. Totally subpar compared to places like Kuala Lipis Noodle but too bad it closed down already.
Sui Gao. There were 5 in this bowl. Totally unimpressive. Just like any other sui gao you could get anywhere.
Hakka Mee. Better than the average types I have tried elsewhere but yuck, too much MSG in it. Or maybe the MSG was from some other dishes. The point was, I was thirsty from as soon as we finished eating (12:30pm) till late in the afternoon!
Hakka Lo Shu Fun. I thought this is a Teochiew noodle, no?
Price: RM57.30 for the four of us including four glasses of Chinese tea.
Address:
No. 80-1 (Ground Floor),
Jalan PJU 1/3B
Sunway Mas Commercial Centre,
47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Tel: 017-279 8582

Wong Kee wonton noodle - Kepong Baru
Every time I passed by this stall, I saw many patrons there so one day I decided to try it myself.
Big mistake!
Wonton noodle with mushroom and chicken feet. You can tell how soggy the noodles were from here, can't you? The chicken feet weren't very tender either.
Fu Zhuk Yee Mai
I must say the fact that they made their own noodle was also part of the reasons I stepped into this stall. Big disppointment.
It's really really bad. Easily one of the worst I have ever tasted. The noodles were really soggy and quite tasteless.
Not cheap either. RM7.50 for the plate of noodle and fu zhuk yee mai.
I strong advise you to avoid this at all cost. If you happen to be there but really need to eat something, I suggest you try this porridge stall just across from this noodle stall. You'll be happy you make the 5 steps across the lane.

Nasi Kandar Kampung Attap II
I have been to this nasi kandar/fish head curry stall twice but thought of trying out ZK this time but it was closed for lunch because of Ramadhan. Only opens from 3pm onwards. Then I noticed this stall just next to ZK.
Not many varieties there, probably because it's Ramadhan?
RM8.00 for these.
The squid was quite good. Certain parts were quite chewy but the gravy was nice.
Fried tofu, papadam, okra and bean sprouts only.
This roadside stall is just beside ZK Restaurant, separated by a lane.
Address:
Jalan Kampung Attap (next to ZK Restoran, 76, Jalan Kampung Attap)

Thai Food - Tmn Bkt Maluri Kepong
A friend of mine told me about this authentic Thai food stall in Taman Bukit Maluri a few days ago and since I like Thai food very much, I decided to check it out today.
Pad Thai. I am sure it's very authentic as this stall was operated by Thai guys, and this plate was cooked by a Thai lady. It tasted sweet, and no wok hei at all. I added some chili powder, but still couldn't cover up the sweet taste.
Therefore I concluded that Pad Thai is just not for me. I know a local version which is more suited to my taste - Char Kway Teow. And it so happens that there is a really nice one just about a hundred meters or less away.
The menu with prices
Business Hour
I actually wanted to order Tup Tim Krob but unfortunately, it's only available during weekend.
Just the Pad Thai and a can of chrysanthemum drink cost me RM9. Very expensive. I might be come back because the tom yam soup (ordered by someone else) looked really nice.

Kokoro Bento - Kota Kemuning
My friend and I had lunch at Kokoro Bento in Kota Kemuning.
After browsing the menu for a while, we decided to go for the RM24.90 Norweigian fish promotion set meal which includes starter (chawanmushi, or mini udon, or salad), miso soup, rice, cold dishes, dessert (matcha ice cream or red bean soup or cheese cake) and free flow of green tea.
Miso soup (part of the set lunch), and Chuka wakame (Sea weed, RM4.00). (side order)
Smooth and yummy chawanmushi. Highly recommended. One of the three choices for Starter.
Mini udon. Also one of the three choices for starter.
Tit bits, also part of the set lunch.
The mains: Salmon Teriyaki
The other main: Shioyaki Saba
Gyoza, another side order. RM14.50
Cheese cake and matcha ice cream, two different choices for dessert as part of the set lunch.
Nice cheese cake
Delicious green tea ice cream (matcha ice cream)
Siphon coffee. We ordered Sumatran and also Colombian coffee. RM 9.50 each.
Too bad the waitress didn't demonstrate the "siphoning" at our table, but did it behind the counter instead. If I had known that I wouldn't have ordered coffee.
Siphon Coffee.
Also, the waitress got our coffee orders wrong. I got my friend's Colombian while my friend got my Sumatran.
Total cost: RM96.05

Claypot chicken rice - Brickfield
This claypot chicken rice stall in Brickfield has been there for as long as I can remember. Since I hadn't had claypot chicken rice for ages, I decided to have it for dinner.
It's across the road from 7-11, near YMCA,
A pot for one. With tender chicken, lap cheong and ham yue (salted fish - in the little saucer). Very natural taste and no evidence of excessive MSG. I like it.
The chicken was very nice and tender!
RM8 including a glass of cold cincau drink (grass jelly)
Address:
Jalan Tun Sambanthan 4
Hours: Evening/night only.
