Teochew Chai Kueh at Tasek

Teochew Chai Kueh from Kheng Hai Kopitiam in Tasek, Seberang Perai Selatan:

Kueh Chap Kimberley Street Penang

I love kueh chap but they are not easy to find.

The stall that sells this kueh chap. Start selling after dark.


The mobile stall is somewhat across the road from this kopitiam that sells Chee Cheong Fun and Char Kueh Teow.

Sri Siam Fish Head Curry Chai Leng Park

This is how it looks like:


It is the "lemak" type with santan (coconut milk) in it, and just the right amount of sourness. Great!


The fish wasn't exactly the freshest but the curry gravy was great. Not as good as how I remembered it though. I seemed to remember tasting mustard seeds in the curry but not this time.


I prefer this type more than Juru Fish Head Curry. RM20 including rice and petai. I had to pay RM24 for the one in Juru, without petai!


Sri Siam is in a corner unit kopitiam, opposite the wet market in Chai Leng Park (Map at the bottom)


Nothing but bones left, as usual. I know..i am good! LOL.

Hokkien Ta (Dry Prawn Mee) Nibong Tebal

Hokkien Ta aka Dry Hokkien Mee or Dry Prawn Mee. Location: Nibong Tebal town. Map at the bottom.

OK OK..I confessed..i had two bowls :P. The serving wasn't very big, and it was only RM2.40 per bowl. Plus, it was super yummy!


The noodle may look a bit dry there in the images above, but give it a good stir to get the noodle all soaked up in the fragrant chili oil and golden deep friend shallot and you can start to chow down


Not the usual yellow noodle (that reeks of alkaline/lye water smell) but very special noodle which I don't see elsewhere.

Lorong Selamat Char Kueh Teow

Yes, Lorong Selamat Lao Yi Char Kueh Teow. She's got a real attitude, and the CKT is overpriced. But she is still one of the best!



If you really want to boycott her, you can try Dato Keramat Ah Leng CKT or Jalan Siam CKT.

The WB is okay...red because of extra chili :D..from archive.
