My friend has been telling me how great the roti kosong at Restoran IV is and finally we were able to make a trip there last Sunday.
Roti canai kosong. It was really ordinary. My friend told me it was because this one was prepared in advance and not fresh, so we ordered roti telur too.
Roti telur. Freshly made and I must say, quite good - fragrant and crispy.
Simple but nice nasi lemak. Really fresh, even slightly warm still, and the sambal and ikan bilis were great.
Packed on a Sunday afternoon

Lui Cha - Hor Poh Taman Sri Sinar
The first time I tried Lui Cha, it was actually at Hor Poh Hakka Restoran in Taman Sri Sinar. But since that was my first time, I had no idea how good it was as there was no basis for comparison.
I have since acquired a taste for lui cha and tried this dish at a few outlets:
- Lui Cha Jinjang Selatan
- Lui Cha Taman Bukit Maluri Kepong
- Lui Cha King, Kepong Baru
Finally I made another trip to Hor Poh Taman Sri Sinar just to try the Lui Cha again.
The soup was thick and the greens in it were all thoroughly blended/ground. The same standard ingredients but they were all served separately.
IMO, this one was great and hard to pick a winner between this and the one in Jinjang Selatan. This one was RM10 though whereas the one in Jinjang Selatan is about RM5.50 (RM6 if you opt for brown rice). Another thing is, there is no option for brown rice in Hor Poh Sri Sinar.
Hor Poh Hakka Restaurant in Taman Sri Sinar also serves many other nice dishes.

Lao Gang - Bandar Puteri Puchong
Dinner for two at Lao Gang just a few days ago.
Claypot mix: vege, sea cucumber, cauliflower, broccoli, roast pork. RM25. The roast pork was really sub-standard. The taste was just okay but still not too bad.
Sheung Tong Lala (Lala clam in superior soup). The soup was nice, but the clams were way overcooked and chewy/rubbery! RM15
Hand made claypot beancurd, RM10. Again, not bad but thinking back, it was a mistake ordering two claypot dishes with somewhat similar tasting sauce. I sensed quite a bit of MSG in all the dishes too.
Emperor's Fried Noodle. RM8. This was the only dish that I really enjoyed among all.
Lao Gang is just next to "We are Family" restaurant.

Tasty Chicken Rice Kota Damansara
Tasty Chicken Rice is located in Kota Damansara. I read somewhere that this place was the winner of Malaysian Hainan Chicken Rice Open Competition champion in 2007.
Roast chicken...okay..nothing to shout about.
Poached chicken...not really smooth nor tender for farmed chicken.
Bean sprout. Quite plump and crunchy, but still not as good as Ipoh mali punya!
Char Siew (Barbeque pork)
Kiam Chai Boey (stewed mustard green ), slightly sour and quite tantalizing.
Chicken feet - we loved this best. So tender and it almost melts in our mouth :D
What you see here, plus 2 plates of rice, a bowl of hor fun, and 3 glasses of Chinese tea, cost RM 35.55.

Siew Yuk - Wong Kee, Pudu
My friends have been telling me how great to siew yuk here is so naturally I had to go check it out:D
Siew Yuk (Roast Pork). The skin was nice and crispy, but our cut was just too fat.
Char Siew (Barbeque Pork). The char siew was good but not really my type. I prefer the type which is charred and slightly crispy on the outside but tender inside.
Free soup. Self service!
This is the crowd on a Thursday lunch time at around 12:22pm.
Siew Yuk and Char Siew
Although it starts selling at 1230pm, customers start coming in at around 12 noon and by around 1230pm, most tables are already occupied.
The plate of siew yuk, char siew, 3 plates of rice and 3 glasses of Chinese Tea came to RM50.
