This kopitiam is at the intersection of Kimberley Street and Jalan Ujong. Opens at night only, around 7pm and onwards.



RM 6 for extra ingredient i.e mantis shrimp. The noodle wasn't bad at all, but the cold mantis shrimp really spoiled it. It would have been much nicer without the cold mantis shrimp, not to mention cheaper too. Less is more sometimes.

However, your choices are limited at night so this place is still worth a visit for as long as you don't order extra ingredient. Day time, you can try: Lorong Selamat CKT, or Dato Keramat Ah Leng CKT, or Jalan Siam CKT.

Cendol & Laksa, Keng Kwee St off Penang Rd

It's really close to Komtar.


Cendol with nice big red beans :)

But for cendol noodles, I prefer the type from this stall.

Laksa. You can't get it from the roadside mobile stall. Only available in the the three shops.




Luckily, the nearest shop is just a few steps away on the same street ie. the green building.

Beef Noodle, Sungai Bakap/Jawi

One of my most favorite places for beef noodle. Nice, clear and tasty soup. Yet no sign of heavy use of MSG. The special chili sauce was great too. Yum. RM 6. This place is in the mainland part of Penang though. Province Wellesley South (Seberang Perai Selatan).

Tu Boh Sui (Octopus), Gurney Drive, Penang

The worst "tu boh sui" I have ever tasted. Ever. Chewy, rubbery, tough.



And it cost me RM 12. Grr.


But i did get a good facial and jaws exercise out of chewing these.



The ABC was lousy too. RM 2.


And the guy who sold me this looked as i i owed him money :P

Ah Leng Char Kueh Teow, Dato Keramat, Penang. It's location opposite Federal Place (formerly Federal Cinema).

Look out for this. Federal Place.


Ah Leng CKT is opposite the Federal Place.


I opted for the RM9 a plate Ah Leng Special CKT :D


Lots of mantis shrimps and big prawns.


I think it was almost as good as Lorong Selamat CKT.

You can also try Jalan Siam CKT which is quite good too. But i think my fave is still Lorong Selamat CKT.
