My first time at this place and we ordered two really sinful dishes for 3 persons:D. We couldn't finished them!

Fried Peh Ge (白粿). The Hokkien Noodle was great, but this fried "Peh Ge" was simply too awesome:D Yes, you do get chunky, crunchy lards in these!

Chicken rice - Tim Kee Lama

Free range chicken but somehow not as lean as the one I get  here. But still very nice.


Oh you do get ginger sauce to go with your chicken too. Sweet!


Char Siew and Siew Yuk...so so only.


Nga choi (bean sprout), plump but not as plump and crunchy as those from Ipoh but still very very good!


From Bukit Mertajam..but i must admit I haven't heard of it before!

Kek Seng Penang Road

Kek Seng kopitiam is just just a short walk from Komtar. This coffee shop has many nice food to offer: lor bak, popiah and its famous durian ice cream.

Yummy lor bak. It seems that I can walk into just about any coffee shops in Penang and still get decent lor bak :D


Lor bak, yam, bean curd, and century eggs with pickled ginger. Too much century egg!



Durian ice cream. RM4. Very disappointing. The durian was weak in flavour and appeared to be of inferior quality too. Doubt I will ever order this again.


Popiah. RM2.60. It was just okay.

Kuala Lipis Noodle & Siew Yuk - Sunwaymas

Wonderful siew yuk. The skin is crunchy, the fat part melts in your mouth and the lean part is flavorful.

I am sure you can tell a lot from all the pictures I have posted here.


Thick, crispy, crunchy skin. It's just like eating crackers!

Fantastic noodle. Lightly firm, springy and not soggy at all  - the way I like it.

Char siew was very good too. Caramelized and crispy on the outside but tender inside! No tenderizer used!
