Look out for this. Federal Place.


Ah Leng CKT is opposite the Federal Place.


I opted for the RM9 a plate Ah Leng Special CKT :D


Lots of mantis shrimps and big prawns.


I think it was almost as good as Lorong Selamat CKT.

You can also try Jalan Siam CKT which is quite good too. But i think my fave is still Lorong Selamat CKT.

It's a road side mobile stall. But you can order then go wait in the kopitiam just across the road.


Only RM 3.50.


Can't complain for a RM3.50/plate CKT. I still prefer Ah Leng CKT (5.412830, 100.319582)and Lorong Selamat CKT (5.41698,100.324893)though.

Juru Fish Head Curry

I love steamed fish and once in a while, fish head curry.

You will see this coffee shop from Jalan Juru.



The stall selling mixed rice and fish head curry is just right next to Long Choo Restoran. You won't see any Fish Head curry sign from the outside. That's because the sign is inside :D


I ordered one. The size is perfect for one Kurt.


Not sure what fish. Red snapper? The flesh was nice and tender. The curry slightly spicy and sour. Not much coconut milk in it from what I could tell.




What was left :P


I didn't eat the two pieces of chilies :D


It wasn't cheap though. RM24. Quite pricey right? Especially considering it's a small town in Juru! It's quite good though so I might go back. But I still prefer the one at Sri Siam, Chai Leng Park.

F4 Fish Head

I have heard of F4 Fish Head countless but never had a chance to try it out, until last week.

This is the place





Got there a bit early so i shot some plumeria flowers while waiting for friend to arrive.


The fish head was a big let-down. The best one I've had so far is in Taman Puteri, Ampang. More about that place here:


The "fu yu yau mak" wasn't great either. The one i had in Tak Fuk was really awesome.


OK...at least this was great.

Bounce card

This is the the DIY Flash Bounce Card I use for event shoot, as well as impromptu portrait shoot. It's better than the built-in bounce card because it's bigger and bounces more light! Mine is made from foam material. More on this later.

I have the Lambency too but I have used it only once. Too heavy plus it didn't fit well on my speed light.

I use a couple of rubber bands to secure it to my speed light. You can use velcro too. This is for landscape mode shots.


For portrait/vertical mode shot, tilt the flash head like this, then..


then rotate your camera 90 degrees. Your flash will still be able to bounce light from the ceiling, if there is one!


Where to get this foam sheet?

You can get A4 size foam sheet from children art supply shops. I used to buy mine from a shop in One Utama. It's RM 2 per sheet. You can make two bounce cards out of it. But i have since found a more economical supply. Here you go:

About RM 5 to RM6 a roll. Available in Jusco, Tesco, Carrefour.


The dimensions are all here: top width - 6.5", bottom width - 4.5", vertical height - 6".


You can make it bigger or smaller if you want. I follow Peter Gregg's original dimensions as seen in his A Better Bounce Card clip:
