Restoran Kam Qun (Jin Chuan, 金川）serves the most awesome steamed fish head! I used to frequent this place back when it was located in Taman Putra, Ampang/Cheras. I discovered this place by chance on the way back from Ampang Look Out point, which is not too far way, a few years back. However, it moved to a new location and I didn't know where it moved to until I stumbled on Reiki Master Terry Ng's photo on Facebook!

 The specialty here is, of course, steamed fish head! Generous amount of rice wine in the broth.

The menu is simple:

Different styles of steaming: with soy bean sauce; brown bean sauce; garlic and ginger; nyonya style; black bean sauce.


The steamed bean curd with dried prawns is great too. Available in both hot and cold version.

D' Naim Nasi Kukus

D' Naim nasi kukus is located in Pantai Dalam, less than 200 meters from the Pantai Dalam KTM Komuter train station.

Nasi kukus with marinated deep fried chicken.


Opens for dinner from as early as 430pm. Recently extended its hours to cater for lunch crowds as well.




The quality control can be quite bad though. My last visit there on April 10, I got a tiny piece of fried chicken with barely any meat on it. After that, I ordered another piece of fried chicken. It was so dry I had trouble swallowing it!


Iced Milo Kosong, my favorite way of washing the nasi kukus down :D

Yut Kee Pork Roast

Ever since I first saw a photo of Yut Kee's Pork Roast, I knew I had to try it. I went there for the first time early this year, but to my dismay, no pork roast until after CNY. Bummer. However, the pork chop I had wasn't bad either.

A different visit to the shop for the roti babi.

Must go there early if you don't want to wait. If possible, before 12:15 pm.

From a recent visit August 24, 2012. Really dry and hard pork.


I highly recommend that you visit this shop to try its Italian pork roast, Porchetta.

Restoran Pan Heong, Batu Caves

Restoran Pan Heong near Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur.

The sang har hor fun was great.






The rest of the dishes were just okay only though.

Cowan Street Taugeh Chicken, Ipoh

I think this is one of the best taugeh chicken shops in Ipoh. Way better that the touristy Lou Wong and Onn Kee.







The tauge was plumb and as crunchy, as always but the chicken wasn't as good though..maybe i should have avoided drumstick.

Total damage RM10.70




This place seems to open only at night from 7pm and onwards. Drove by at noon a couple of times and they were closed.
