I am a big fan of fish head noodles and almost anything with fish in it (:D) but good ones are hard to come by. I have heard about this place in Jalan Tiong Nam a lot and I finally made a trip there on the way to town.
Served in claypot which keeps the food warm till the end
It has tofu, tomatoes, preserved vegetables (ham choy), yam, cabbage, tofu skins, Lala clams, fish balls, rice wine, fried fish slices and thick vermicelli in it.
They normally serves this dish with evaporated milk and fried fish but I asked for no milk and unfried fish. However, they only got part of my order right as you can see the fish slices were fried. I really disliked it because the fish slices were coated with really thick batter which became really chewy after frying. They also became soggy after being cooked in the soup.
But I like the ingredients a lot and I think I will make another trip here if the future, only this time I will really really make sure they serve mine with no milk and unfried fish slices!
This big claypot of fish head noodles and a glass of herbal drink cost me only RM7.00.
It's not far from Hotel Wira.
