Lui Cha - PJ Old Town

A few friends told me that the Hakka Lui Cha in in this coffee shop is very good. Since acquiring a taste for lui cha not too long ago, I have tried like five different places. This one was my sixth one.



When the bowl of soup and another bowl of dry ingredients with brown rice arrived at my table, I looked at the rather watery and thin soup and thought to myself - this is not going to be very good.


Luckily, the dry ingredients in the other bowl could hold their own, thanks mainly to the sauteed, caramelized onions, which added a nice flavour to this dish. But still, I wished the soup were not as watered down. The maid probably added too much hot water to my bowl of soup?



RM5.50 for lui cha with plain steamed rice. RM6.00 with brown rice.
